What is fire training?

What kind of fire training do you offer?

We offer GWO Fire Awareness training which is for those working within the wind industry and for those entering the field. In addition to this we also offer Fire Warden training 

Some of the topics included in fire training:

• Fire Prevention – Teaching you how to identify and minimise fire hazards in the workplace or even at home.
• Fire Types and Extinguishers – Understanding different types of fires (e.g., electrical, chemical, wood) and which fire extinguishers are appropriate for each.
• Emergency Procedures – Knowing how to react when a fire occurs, including evacuation protocols, raising alarms, and safe routes of exit.
• Firefighting Techniques – Learning basic skills to control small fires with extinguishers, fire blankets, or other equipment before professional firefighters arrive.
• Fire Warden Training – Specialised training for individuals responsible for coordinating evacuations and ensuring others are safe in case of a fire.
• Evacuation Drills – Practicing safe and efficient building evacuation during a fire emergency.

Where do you run fire training?

We run GWO Fire Awareness training at our training centre within Dundee. We run our Fire Warden course either at our facility in Dundee or we can come to your facility to deliver it.

What industries are the courses suitable for?

GWO Fire Awareness is specifically designed for workers in the wind industry, while our Fire Warden course is suitable for a wide range of industries, from manufacturing plants to office environments.

How much do the fire courses cost?

Our initial GWO Fire Awareness costs £130.00, our Fire Warden course costs £120.00.

What kind of fire certification do you get at the end of the course?

If you complete our GWO Fire Awareness course you will receive GWO approved certification, if you complete Fire Warden Training you will receive a coast training certificate after successful completion.

How often should I carry out this training?

Every two years you should re take the course to refresh your knowledge.
