What topics will be covered?

  • First Aid Essentials (the A,B,C’s): Learn Airways, Breathing and Circulation.
  • First Aid Fundamentals: How to handle common injuries such as cuts, burns, and fractures.
  • Cardiac Problems: Recognising the signs of a heart attack, cardiac arrest, and stroke.
  • Use of an AED: Introduction to Automated External Defibrillators and their proper use.
  • Choking Emergencies: Steps to help a choking adult, child, or infant.
  • Bleeding and Shock Management: How to control bleeding and manage shock.
  • Bandaging and Slinging Techniques: Proper methods for applying bandages to various injuries.
  • Allergies. Recognising Anaphylaxis: Signs and symptoms of a severe allergic reaction.
  • Medical Emergencies: Recognising and responding to heart attacks, strokes, and diabetic emergencies.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS): Techniques including CPR for adults, children, and infants.
  • Epilepsy: Understanding epilepsy and common triggers.

Prerequsites

  • There are no prerequisites for this course, anyone can attend.

What will I leave with?

  • After successfully finishing the course, participants will receive a Coast Training certificate.
