About this course
Hub Rescue training focuses on developing specialised expertise and understanding necessary for rescuing personnel working in diverse sections of a wind turbine, encompassing the hub area.
This training contributes to creating a safer working environment in the wind industry by equipping teams with the expertise needed to respond effectively to emergencies in and around the hub.
Who is the course suitable for?

Hub Rescue is suitable for all WTG climbers who are required to access and work in the hub (inc blade area) areas of wind turbines.
What will I Learn:

Assess and develop an individual rescuer's plan for diverse rescue scenarios within a wind turbine hub and surrounding areas.

Learn the process of rescuing an individual from a confined space using a range of specialised equipment.

Learn how to remain calm on site in an emergency situation and take the best measures.

Acquire the skill of examining users' personal protective equipment (PPE).

Identify risks and hazards when working at height in a turbine environment.

Ensure safe utilisation of both full and half-type stretchers.
Prerequisites

A valid GWO Working at Height certificate is required.

A valid WINDA ID is required.

Safety footwear is required for all practical sessions.

Photographic ID Card, such as a drivers licence or passport.

A general standard of fitness is required.

A valid GWO hub rescue certificate is required.
What will I leave with?

Upon completion of the course, delegates will be awarded with GWO approved certification for Hub Rescue. Certification is valid for 2 years, prior to expiry delegates must redo the refresher course to remain certified.

Registration and Welcome: The day typically begins with registration, where participants confirm their attendance and receive any necessary training materials or equipment.

Safety Briefing: A safety briefing is conducted to highlight the importance of adhering to safety protocols throughout the training session and in our centre.

Catering: Lunch will be provided to all delegates.
Important Information
Participants or individuals booking the course are responsible for ensuring that they meet all the necessary prerequisites and provide the required evidence, such as valid certificates for revalidation courses, on the first day of the course.
Failure to fulfill any of these prerequisites may lead to the participant being requested to leave the course. Please note that no refunds will be issued in such cases.
