Ensure that turbines are operating efficiently and in accordance with performance standards.
Respond to unscheduled maintenance needs or emergency repairs.

What does a Main Components Technician do?

Replace defective or worn-out components, including gearboxes, generators, and control systems.
Ensure proper installation and calibration of replacement parts.
Conduct thorough inspections of key turbine components, such as blades, rotors, and casings.
Utilise diagnostic equipment to identify any anomalies or defects in main components.
Identify root causes of problems and implement corrective measures.
Balance rotating components to minimise vibrations and ensure smooth operation.

What does an Installation Technician do?

Assist in the preparation of the construction site for turbine installation, including clearing the area and ensuring it meets safety and environmental standards.
Collaborate with a team to assemble turbine components, including the tower, nacelle, and rotor blades.
Use lifting equipment to position and secure heavy components at various heights.
Use torque tools to tighten bolts and fasteners to specified levels, ensuring the structural integrity of the turbine.
Connect and test electrical components within the turbine, such as wiring and control systems.
Participate in testing and commissioning activities to ensure that the turbine is fully operational.

What does a Component Repair Technician do?

Conduct thorough visual inspections of wind turbine components to identify any damage, wear, or defects.
Utilise inspection tools and techniques, such as drones or rope access, to assess the condition of components.
Develop repair plans based on the assessment of the damages.
Select and apply appropriate materials for repairs, considering factors such as strength, durability, and aerodynamics.
